HMS Fearless
Seven ships of the British Royal Navy were named HMS Fearless from the English word for "fearless":
- The first HMS Fearless was a gunboat launched in 1794 and stranded near Plymouth in 1804 .
- The second HMS Fearless was a cannon brig that took part in the bombardment of Copenhagen in 1807 before running aground near Cádiz in 1812 .
- The third HMS Fearless had previously been called "Flamer". The wooden paddle steamer was renamed in 1837 and used as a package steamer until it was scrapped in 1875.
- The fourth HMS Fearless was a torpedo cruiser launched in 1886 and sold for scrapping in 1905 .
- The fifth HMS Fearless was a 1913-built scout cruiser of the Active class . It was used in World War I and scrapped in 1921.
- The sixth HMS Fearless was a destroyer of the F-Class , which was put into service the 1,934th In 1941 he was so damaged by aircraft in the Mediterranean that he had to be self-scuttled.
- The seventh HMS Fearless was an amphibious drop ship that entered service in 1963 . It was used in the Falklands War and retired in 2002.
