HMS Highflyer
Several ships of the British Royal Navy were named HMS Highflyer (Highflyer = the soaring).
- The first HMS Highflyer was an 8-gun schooner , originally an American privateer , captured in January 1813 and taken over into the Royal Navy, but retaken by the US frigate USS President on September 23 of the same year .
- The second HMS Highflyer was a 2-gun fleet tender that was used by the Royal Navy from 1822–1833.
- The third HMS Highflyer was a wooden hull, screw-propelled frigate that was launched in 1851 and scrapped in 1871.
- The fourth HMS Highflyer was a 2nd class cruiser launched in 1898 and sold for scrapping in 1921.
