Christoph Zehendner

Christoph Zehendner (* 1961 in Bad Windsheim ) is a songwriter in the field of new sacred song as well as a theologian and was a journalist for Südwestrundfunk (SWR) for over 20 years until June 2011 . He has lived and worked with the Brotherhood of Christ Bearers since July 2011 .

Live and act

After working for Evangeliums-Rundfunk (ERF) in Wetzlar and Hessischer Rundfunk as well as studying theology at Philipps University in Marburg , he worked as a freelance radio journalist in the regional political editorial department of SWR in Stuttgart .

Zehendner is one of the most famous lyricists and interpreters in the field of Christian popular music . More than 250 of his lyrics have already been published. He places a special emphasis on community-related concepts, such as on the subject of psalms or the Sermon on the Mount . Many of his songs are an integral part of the songs in the parishes of different denominations. In addition, he also released several solo albums, most recently (in 2015) the album Ganz bei Trost . As part of his work as a copywriter, he worked with various interpreters such as Johannes Nitsch , Sharona , Layna , Beate Ling , Attila Kalman , Albert Frey , Andrea Adams-Frey , Andreas Volz and Daniel Kallauch . He is supported by various musicians at concerts, especially: Manfred Staiger , Michael Schlierf , Uli Schwenger, Mathias Ade, Torsten Harder and Jonathan Böttcher . His concert tours have taken him to South Africa and Afghanistan .

Private

Christoph Zehendner is married to art therapist Ingrid. The couple have two children. Since 2011 both have lived and worked in the Triefenstein Monastery .
