Beate Ling
Beate Ling (* 1961 in Pforzheim ) is a German singer of Christian music.
Live and act
Already in her teenage years, the pastor's daughter appeared in church services as a singer and began singing training at the Italian Belcanto School while she was still in school. After graduating from high school with a music performance course and a singing exam, he went on to study teaching at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education with a focus on singing. In addition, she studied musicals, art songs and chamber music with a special focus on the laws of phonetics. After her second state examination in 1987, she received a scholarship for additional vocal training in Los Angeles , USA . There she took part in the Speech Level Singing training program developed by Seth Riggs .
After Ling had worked as a backing singer in various bands, she began her solo concert activity in 1989, initially under the married name of Beate Ling-Zappel. In 1991 her debut album Solo was released . This and the following album Herztöne (1993) were arranged and produced by Hans-Werner Scharnowski . Her third album So far, so good , in which she addresses the accidental death of her brother and the end of their marriage, was released in 1997, also produced by Hans-Werner Scharnowski, together with Lothar Kosse and Paul Janz . After a six-year break, the concept album Green was released in 2003 - a tribute to Keith Green , whose songs were translated into German by copywriters such as Manfred Siebald , Christoph Zehendner , Jürgen Werth and Andreas Malessa . In 2006 snapshots were published , which in addition to compiled earlier recordings also contains new titles and cover versions . The album Up to Here - and Much Further (2007) gives partly humorous, partly profound insights into the middle of life. In 2014 she recorded her favorite songs in the album of the same name, produced, arranged and accompanied by music by pianist Michael Schlierf .
In addition to her more than 800 concerts of her own, Ling also appears again and again at concerts and stage projects (formerly e.g. Jona , Helmut Jost Band, Felsenfest , Episodes and Relationships ) by Christian musicians such as Johannes Nitsch , Christian Löer , Helmut Jost and Christoph Zehendner and is involved in many studio productions as a singer.
As a vocal coach she taught the singers of Normal Generation? on the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002, which reached third place before the Kelly Family. On behalf of the Stella Entertainment Group , she trained the actors of the musicals Miss Saigon and Cats for several years . From 2007 to 2011 she was a lecturer in pop singing at the Evangelical University for Church Music in Tübingen . Today she lives as a freelance singer and voice coach in Stuttgart.
For several years now, she has also been working increasingly as a speaker for women's breakfast meetings in German-speaking countries and enriches the music landscape with specialist lectures and seminars on everything to do with voice and personality.
Quote
“Singing means: giving yourself, putting your whole personality into a song, a word, a certain tone. Only those who sing like this trigger something in the people who listen! "
