Hans Werner Scharnowski (* 1954 , spelling also: Hans-Werner Scharnowski ; also known as: Hansi Scharnowski ) is a German musician , arranger , producer and composer of Christian pop music .

life and work

Hans-Werner Scharnowski studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater .

Since the mid-1980s he has been arranging and producing well-known Christian artists such as Hella Heizmann , Beate Ling , Jörg Swoboda and Christian Löer . After Gerhard Schnitter and Johannes Nitsch , he became musical director of the Pro Christ evangelism in 2003 . He also conducted the Unforgotten Choir, composed of singers from the Jubilate Choir , the Wetzlar Choirs , the Wir-singen-für-Jesus-Choir and Singkreis Frohe Nachrichten , at the great nostalgia concert Unforgotten - songs that will stay , organized by Gerth Media and the ERF .

Hans-Werner Scharnowski wrote, with Jürgen Werth as the copywriter, the musical Once Again Kapernaum , published in 2004 by Felsenfest-Musikverlag . Before that, he produced the concept Hoffnungsland 1998 , also with Jürgen Werth as lyricist and with Johannes Nitsch as co-producer and composer . His best-known song is bist zu uns like a father , which is now sung in countless churches and parishes . He is the director of the Living Gospel Schalksmühle choir and runs the Hit'n Run recording studio .

On August 29, 2015 Scharnowski was introduced as a full-time cantor for Christian popular music (so-called "pop cantor") of the Evangelical Church District of Münster; he is the first pop cantor in the Evangelical Church of Westphalia .

Private

Scharnowski is married; he has three children and lives in Munster.
