Life

Klaus-André Eickhoff is the son of Klaus Eickhoff . In 1979 he completed his first year of school in the USA (White Bear Lake, Minnesota), after which he attended school in Sierning and Steyr (Austria). From 1992 to 1998 he studied journalism , English , Romance studies , English and Spanish in Salzburg and Salamanca . The diploma thesis of the soccer fan ( Alemannia Aachen ) was entitled: “David versus Goliath. Press coverage at international football matches between Germany and Austria. ”Before that, he spent several months at ERF Medien Österreich , where he worked as a freelancer. From 1998 to 1999 he worked in the press department of the regional association for tourism in Upper Austria.

Eickhoff has been a freelance songwriter, music cabaret artist and lyricist since 2000; he lived in Paderborn for three years, in Aachen for six years, and in Wiesbaden since October 2009. Live he appears solo (“One voice, two hands, one piano”) or accompanied by the cellist Torsten Harder.

Eickhoff received piano lessons from 1980. From 1987 on he was a soloist and keyboard player in the youth choir. He wrote his first own songs in 1990, and gave his first solo concerts as a singer-songwriter from 1994 onwards. In 1996 his debut album You know already was released on the Christian record label Cap-Music , on which he also released his other CDs. The exception is the concept album Courage , which was released in 2004 on the courage label. Eickhoff is one of the managing directors at courage label.

His humorous Advent album Oh, you happy! earned him over 80 appearances a year for the first time in 2007. In addition to his own concert activities, Eickhoff has also written songs and texts for various CD projects and artist colleagues.

Eickhoff is a song poet who dissects human existence in a razor-sharp and humorous manner. He observes life with all its ups and downs, superficialities and abysses and reflects his findings in his songs. On the one hand, he brings thoughtful thoughts to the audience without using clichés, on the other hand, the songs come across with ease and wit, whereby he is often socially critical and ironic. He is often referred to by the press as a word acrobat and master of the quiet.

The highlights of his work were the performance of the songs on a summer evening at Kloster Banz in 2002, his participation in the Nuremberg Bardentreffen in 2003 and an appearance with Konstantin Wecker at the Festival of Political Song in Berlin in 2004.

In 2002, Eickhoff received a GEMA grant for lyricists ( Celler Schule ). At the Stuttgart Chanson & Lied Competition 2009, the Troubadour, he was awarded 2nd place. Several songs by the song poet were included in the song leaderboard .
