Sarah Kaiser
Sarah Kaiser (* 1974 in Berlin ) is a German soul and jazz singer .
Life
From 1994 to 1995 Sarah Kaiser studied jazz singing with Norma Winstone at the Royal Academy of Music in London . In 1999 she obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Writing and Music from Taylor University , Indiana , USA. From 1999 to 2003 she continued her jazz singing studies at the “Hanns Eisler” University of Music in Berlin , with Judy Niemack and Eleanor Forbes.
Gospel , soul and jazz are the essential elements of Sarah Kaiser's music. Since May 2001 she has been leading the gospel choir Soul 2 Soul in Berlin . In 2001 Sarah Kaiser made her television debut as a soloist on ARD . Her CD Gast auf Erden with jazzy new interpretations of Paul Gerhardt's songs has sold over 20,000 copies so far.
Sarah Kaiser travels with her band for her solo concerts mainly in Germany, but also in Austria and Switzerland. In 2006 she took a concert tour to Saudi Arabia.
She also sings in various other studio productions, including in the field of Christian pop music . She also teaches singing, leads seminars and gives workshops for singers and choirs, especially on the topics of gospel and improvisation . Sarah Kaiser lives in Berlin .
Since 2000 she has formed the jazz vocal quartet Berlin Voices together with Kristofer Benn, Marc Secara and Esther Kaiser . This ensemble tries to combine the influences of modern jazz with stylistic elements of pop music, soul and gospel in its music. Regular concert tours have taken the quartet to Azerbaijan and Estonia in recent years. Appearances took place in large German concert halls, including the Frankfurt Alte Oper, the Hamburg CCH and the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin. In November 2007, the first CD States of Mind was released with pieces by the American songwriter Billy Joel .
Prices
In January 2004, Sarah Kaiser won the artist prize of the annual Promikon music fair, "Best Of 2003" in Giessen . In March 2011 she received an “IMPALA Silver Award” for 20,000 albums sold by the Gast auf Erden production .
