Johannes Falk (musician)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johannes Falk (* 1977 in Darmstadt ) is a German singer-songwriter from Heidelberg who, in addition to his solo career, also writes songs and lyrics for renowned German artists.

Life

Johannes Falk grew up in Pfungstadt near Darmstadt as the youngest child of twelve siblings in a Russian-German family. The strictly religious upbringing and the subcultural bubble in which Johannes grew up shaped his first musical attempts. Thanks to his singing talent, he quickly made a name for himself in the small Christian music scene. At first Johannas Falk was booked intensively as an interpreter for modern church hymns, so that his name appears in various church playlists to this day. A short time later he began his career as a songwriter, went on to his career as an artist on stage and as a songwriter and songwriter for other artists. In the rehearsal room of his older brothers, he lived out his musical skills at an early age. At the age of 13 he formed his first band with three brothers. From 1996 to 1999 he sang as a soloist with the Gospel Company and accompanied the international gospel choir on tours through Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg. In 1999 Johannes Falk joined the rock band On A Mission as the front man . The band toured around 200 concerts in Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Finland in the following years. The highlight of the tour was the Sound of Frankfurt festival with 30,000 people and TV broadcasting. In the following years, he was repeatedly asked as a singer and songwriter, so that in 2004 he decided to give up the job of chemical technician in favor of music. In autumn of the same year he was admitted to the Pop Academy Baden-Württemberg to study pop music design with a focus on singer-songwriter. In 2006 he founded the Falk project , which appeared at Arena of Pop and in the opening act for Söhne Mannheims . He was also a member of the band Gracetown .

In 2011 Johannes Falk released his debut album under the title Pilgerreise , for which he was inspired by the Christian literary classic Pilgrimage to Blessed Eternity by John Bunyan and which received very positive reviews both inside and outside the scene. The sons of Mannheim and Phillipp Poisel then took him on tour as a support act. In 2013 he released his second album 360 ° , on which he was involved as a co-producer in addition to Florian Sitzmann . From 2014 Johannes began to write more and more for other artists. For Laith Al-Deen's album "Was Wenn alles gut geht" , Johannes wrote several lyrics, as well as some songs for the albums "Stay on the move", which landed at number 1 in the German charts, and for "Kein Tag vorsonst". In 2015 the publishing company BMG Rights Management signed him as an author. A year later, the major label Sony Music Entertainment noticed him and signed him as an artist. In February 2018 the album "Von Mücken & Elefanten" was released on the Sony sub-label Columbia Records. Due to the moderate success and differences, the cooperation was not continued. In the meantime, Johannes was able to record considerable success as a co-writer by placing some of his songs on successful albums by renowned artists such as B. at Max Giesinger , Mogli or Peter Maffay . Johannes Falk is currently working on his own songs again.

Johannes Falk is also an artist ambassador for the human rights organization International Justice Mission and draws attention to the topics of slavery, human trafficking and forced prostitution throughout Germany in musical lectures.
