Year of the bible
The “2003. The Year of the Bible. ” Was an initiative of all churches that are united in the Working Group of Christian Churches in Germany , as well as of Christian organizations and associations. One of the goals of the campaign was to bring the Bible into public discussion. An attempt was made to 'do this in our media society u. a. to seek cooperation with radio and television stations so that the subject of the "Bible" "reaches" as many viewers and listeners as possible.
The opening ceremony for the Year of the Bible was broadcast live by ARD on January 1st, 2003 from 12.15 to 13.00 o'clock from the new reading room of the Dresden University Library .
After the project office “2003. The Year of the Bible. ”The work of the German Bible Society and the Catholic Biblical Works is continued.
Year of the Bible 1983 USA
In the United States was in 1983 as the National Year of the Bible by President Ronald Reagan announced by Proclamation 5018 on February 3 1,983th It was based on Public Law 97-280 (Senate Joint Resolution 165, 96 Stat. 1211), which was approved by Congress on October 4, 1982.
