Paul Janz
Paul D. Janz (* 1951 in Three Hills , Alberta ) is a Canadian musician and theologian .
life and work
Paul Janz was born in Canada but grew up in Basel , Switzerland after his parents moved to Europe to set up the Missionswerk Janz team in Germany . His father is Leo Janz . Paul Janz and his cousin first became known as Danny & Paul before the band Deliverance was formed in the early 1970s, merging with the Janz Team Singers . Her title “Leaving LA” reached number 71 on the Billboard Hot 100. He also worked for the international Christian boarding school Black Forest Academy , run by the Janz Mission Team.
In 1981 he took part with the title "Stones" in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1981 , which only reached 10th place. The singer Katja Ebstein released her own version of the title "Steine" in 1983 on her LP "Traumzeit".
As a result, he published other albums and titles in English as a solo artist. For his title, he was proposed, among other things, for the Canadian music prize Juno Award . The title "Every Little Tear" was able to reach the 5th place in the Canadian hit parade in 1990. The titles "Rocket to my heart" and "Stand" also reached top 20 positions in the Canadian charts.
Janz is currently professor of "Philosophical Theology" at King's College London , where he heads the "Theology and Religious Studies" department. Previously, he taught philosophy at the private Christian Trinity Western University in Langley (District) , Canada . His book God, the Mind's Desire: Reference, Reason and Christian Thinking was published in 2004 by Cambridge University Press ; The Command of Grace: A New Theological Apologetics followed in 2009 at T & T Clark in London.
