The Kawohl Publishing is a 1970 by Reinhard Kawohl established publishing Christian literature , calendars , posters and gift items in Wesel .
history
Reinhard Kawohl received the initial idea of founding his own publishing house from the theologian Klaus Vollmer when Kawohl approached him at a regional youth conference in the Lower Rhine region that his sermons should be printed. In 1970 Reinhard Kawohl founded the publishing house for youth and congregations in Wuppertal and published the sermon records under the title Life - Why? out. He initially ran the publishing house for seven years as a part-time job until the continuously growing work made this impossible in 1977. At the end of 1975 the publishing house relocated to Wesel.
In 1997 Kawohl Verlag expanded its program to include Edition Hintermann , which emerged from the closure of the Hintermann Verlag .
At the beginning of 1998, the Felsenfest-Musikverlag from Würzburg founded by Margarete Hühnerbein became part of Kawohl Verlag as a limited partnership . Since then , the Felsenfest label (LC 03623) has published Christian music productions by singers such as Hella Heizmann , Lisa Shaw and Judy Bailey as well as producers such as Johannes Nitsch and Hans-Werner Scharnowski under the slogan “Hören - singen - Discover” . Until 2004, the annual songs for the current annual slogan were also published every year . A children's program will appear next to musicals and radio plays since 2008. The narrative Bible of Werner Hoffmann .
In addition, in 1998 a sales agreement was signed with a befriended importer of Israeli products, which has now been expanded into the Kawohl Shalom product line , which sells a wide variety of products exclusively from Israel.
Today Kawohl Verlag is best known for its Christian image productions and over 140 different calendar formats that combine Bible texts and spiritual words with photographs or graphics and are used in private and church environments in public buildings such as hospitals. Furthermore, specialized the Kawohl publisher in the production of greeting cards and gift books published and illustrated books by, among others, Peter Bush , Elke Werner , Petra Würth and Johannes Hansen .
MediaKern-Verlag , which was founded in 2010 by the publisher Karlheinz Kern in Friesenheim (Baden) , who was previously the head of Johannis-Verlag for many years , has also been part of the Kawohl publishing group since 2013 . The Kawohl publishing group is also a partner in the Blickfeld catalog. The range, which includes several thousand products, supplies around 1,000 booksellers, 600 book tables in communities and up to 100,000 private customers. The company employed 40 people in 2017.
On June 2, 2017, it became known that Kawohl Verlag and Verlag der Francke-Buchhandlung (Marburg) had each taken over 50% of Brunnen Verlag , including ALPHA-Buchhandlungen and the logistics company ChrisMedia GmbH (Staufenberg near Gießen).
