Doris Loh
Doris Loh (born December 23, 1938 in Gummersbach as Doris Haas , initially known by her birth name; later names also: Doris Loh-Haas or Doris Haas-Loh ) is a German singer of Christian music from classical hymns to the New Spiritual Song soprano voice .
Life
As the fourth child of the Karl Haas family, Doris Loh grew up in a musical environment at home and in the parish. She made a personal conversion to Christianity at the age of 15 . Initially through her brother Johannes Haas' choir work with the Derschlager Choirs , she soon became known as a soloist and released her first recordings with the Derschlag youth singing group and the national youth for Christ choir on the Christian label Frohe Message im Lied .
After the Youth for Christ Choir was taken over by Klaus Heizmann in 1968 , he produced her first solo single Jesus, my joy . In 1971 Margret Birkenfeld 's debut album came out, Safe in Jesus' Arms , like the successor What more do you want? (1976) accompanied by different formats of the Wetzlar choirs as well as musicians like Peter van Woerden and Nils Kjellström . Her third album Are you there, God? (1980) was arranged and produced by Johannes Nitsch . Doris Loh published the last album in 1986 under the title Ein Lied für den Tag , also produced by Johannes Nitsch. Margret Birkenfeld with her Wetzlar studio choir was again among the participants .
Doris Loh remained true to her roots in choral music. She was involved in numerous projects by her brother Johannes and other music producers associated with her, such as Margret Birkenfeld , Jochen Rieger and Klaus Heizmann, not only as a soloist, but also as a singer in the individual choirs. At the end of the 1980s she took over the leadership of the singing group Happy News from her older brother Johannes Haas.
Concert tours and participation in the musical preliminary program of Christian events have taken Doris Loh all over Germany, the USA , Canada , Liberia , Sri Lanka , Austria , Spain , the former Czechoslovakia and Switzerland .
In 1996 she worked on Manfred Siebald 's children's album Let 's Be Friends as the choirmaster of the children's choir put together for this purpose.
In May 2011, Doris Loh performed alongside other greats from the Christian music scene from the 1950s to the 70s at the nostalgia concert Unforgotten, organized by ERF and Gerth Medien - songs that will remain as a soloist and in a trio with Ruthild Eicker and Cornelia Eicker .
Private
Doris Loh has been married to Klaus Loh, one of her early pianists and cousin of the entrepreneurs Friedhelm Loh and Joachim Loh , since 1962 . They have three grown children named Marion, Alexander and Thomas.
