Cornelia Eicker
Cornelia Eicker (born March 1, 1963 in Radevormwald ; also known as Cornelia Eicker-Behling or Conny Behling , civil since 1986: Cornelia Behling ) is a German singer with the soprano voice of the Christian music scene .
Life
Cornelia Eicker grew up into the musical work We sing for Jesus from her parents Elsa and Ernst August Eicker . At the age of three she sang at concerts with her older sister Ruthild and made her first recordings when she was about ten. In 1971 Elsa Eicker also founded the Wir-singen-für-Jesus children's choir , in which Cornelia sang as a children's soloist. Later she became the soprano part of the Wir-singen-für-Jesus-Choir under the direction of her father .
She subsequently developed into an independent singer with her own titles at concerts and productions of the individual formations of Wir singen für Jesus . In response to the steadily growing demand for a solo record by the soloist, the book and record publisher Hermann Schulte published a joint album with her sister Ruthild Eicker in 1979 under the title Es ist ein Gute Weg . Arranged and produced by Dirk Schmalenbach and accompanied by the rock band Eden , the sisters present themselves as independent artists in a much more progressive sound. During this time, Cornelia Eicker studied piano and singing at the Wuppertal Institute of the Rhineland University of Music (now the Cologne University of Music and Dance ) .
Today Cornelia Eicker sings as a soloist with Voices for Christ , the new generation of choirs from Wir singen für Jesus . In the musicals The Living Book and The Good News with Kids for Christ and Voices for Christ under the direction of Ruthild Eicker, Cornelia played and sang the biblical role of Lydia, the purple seller .
Cornelia Eicker also forms the quartet Die Eickers with her sister and parents . In this constellation they were present at all We-sing-for-Jesus concerts and productions until they were dissolved in 2004. The song Do I look back , that the Eickers had in 1991 released on the anniversary album for the 25th anniversary of the choir reached the desired songs broadcast of the ERF are happy to hear the first song the thousand mark. Also popular in the same show is the title Jerusalem by Cornelia Eicker, which can be found on the second episode of the CD series of the same name for the show, published by Gerth Medien .
