Ernst August Eicker

Ernst August Eicker (* 1934 ; spelling also: Ernst-August Eicker ) is a German singer of the Gospel Song and the New Spiritual Song in the tenor voice range and was choirmaster of the former We-singen-für-Jesus-Choir .

Life

At the age of 16, Ernst August Eicker was entrusted with the leadership of the parish choir of the Free Evangelical Community of Bever from his father August Eicker. 1955 began appearances and recordings as a duet Elsa & Ernst August Eicker with his wife. In 1966 Ernst August Eicker finally started choir work with the Wir-singen-für-Jesus-Choir . His tours with the choir took him to around 4,000 concerts in Canada , Israel , Italy , France , the USA , Brazil and numerous other countries. Around 300 music tracks were released on sound media, initially as singles, later on LP and finally on CD. In addition to the choir, the Eickers family quartet was formed as the daughters Ruthild and Cornelia grew up . A multi-part musical work developed, which under the roof We sing for Jesus to this day houses different singing formations. In 2004, Ernst August gave his daughter Ruthild Eicker the musical direction of the entire work.

In addition to his musical activity, Ernst August Eicker always kept the family business, his tool factory founded in 1960, up until his retirement in 2000.
