Ruthild Eicker
Ruthild Eicker (born December 8, 1959 ; civil name: Ruthild Eicker-Grothe ) is a German singer in the alto range , pianist , arranger and music producer for Wir singen für Jesus and choirmaster of Voices for Christ and Kids for Christ as well as composer of Christian songs and Pop music .
Life
As the daughter of the singing duo Elsa & Ernst August Eicker , Ruthild received organ and piano lessons from the age of five and performed together with her parents and younger sister Cornelia as the family quartet Die Eickers . In this way she grew into the musical choral work of her parents. We sing into it for Jesus ; first in the We sing for Jesus children's choir of her mother and as a children's soloist next to her sister Cornelia, later as a soloist, pianist and arranger in the “adult” We sing for Jesus choir under the direction of her father. During this time she studied general music education at the Institut Wuppertal of the Musikhochschule Rheinland, today: University of Music and Dance Cologne , with the subjects piano , music education and singing .
As a singer, Ruthild Eicker took part in projects and concepts from Christian producers such as Jochen Rieger and the Janz team in addition to her work at Wir singen für Jesus . In 1979 she released her own album under the title Es ist ein Gute Weg in collaboration with her sister Cornelia Eicker , arranged and produced by Dirk Schmalenbach and his rock group Eden .
Ruthild Eicker wrote her first songs at the age of 15, such as “O Lord, I thank you” and “Give but God's love space”, both of which were recorded on record by the music producer Margret Birkenfeld and her Wetzlar girls' choir . Today Ruthild Eicker writes songs of Christian pop music . With her musical The Living Book , she toured Germany with her choirs Kids for Christ and Voices for Christ . The stage spectacle was released in 1997 as an audio and video recording by Gerth Medien and ERF and paved the way for the establishment of contemporary music elements such as rap , rock and dance for Christian music in Germany in general, and especially for children's music. The musical was continued in 2004 with The Good News , again music styles of the entire pop music spectrum appear here.
Ruthild Eicker's interpretation of the Negro Spiritual Go Down Moses with the Wir singen für Jesus choir was briefly faded into the plot in 1993 by Günter Schmitz in his radio play Moses in Egypt , the third installment of his radio play series Adventures Between Heaven and Earth .
In 2000 the Bach Choir Siegen implemented a concept by Ruthild Eicker about the development of sacred music over two millennia with its album Anno Domini .
Ruthild Eicker is married to Michael Grothe and lives in Halver , where she has been running the Eicker Music School since 1986 .
