View of the church

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Thossen is located in Thossen , a district of Weischlitz in the Saxon Vogtland district .

The small Romanesque village church with the patron saint holy Saint Martin consists of a squat nave. The choir is divided by a round arch. At the opposite end is the entrance to the tower. The tower with its tent roof is the oldest part of the church. In the 18th century there were efforts by the superintendent to demolish it as an outdated building, which prevented the local population. The nave is entered from the side via an anteroom. The church is surrounded by a wall that originally also enclosed the village cemetery.

The special features of the church include the winged altar , Michael Reinel's baptismal font, the pulpit and early wall paintings uncovered in 1954 . The heavy medieval church door with its fittings is now in Plauen .
