history

Thossen was first mentioned in 1328. The St. Martin's Church was built around 1220. In 1506 they wrote "Tosszen" and in 1590 "Toßen". The street village of Thossen was the ancestral seat of the Tosse family . Regarding the manorial rule , Thossen belonged partly to the Reuth manor and as an official village to the Plauen office in the 16th century . In the 18th century the place was partly subordinate to the council of Plauen , the manors Kloschwitz and Rodersdorf and, as an official village, to the office of Plauen.

Until 1856, Thossen belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Plauen . In 1856 the place was affiliated with the Plauen court office and in 1875 with the Plauen administration .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Thossen came to the Plauen-Land district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On January 1, 1974, Thossen was incorporated into Reuth. As a district of Reuth, Thossen belonged to the Saxon district of Plauen from 1990, which was added to the Vogtland district in 1996. On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Reuth was incorporated into Weischlitz with Thossen and all other districts.
