history
The square village of Kröstau was first mentioned as Crosteyn in 1328 . The manor of the place can be traced back to 1583. However, it existed as a manor house earlier, because around 1510 Eberhard von Röder came into possession of the Kröstau estate. The other owners were the von Posseck (from 1633), von Feilitzsch (from 1662), von Reibold and Kasten (from 1766) families . The latter had the former castle and the farmyard rebuilt or expanded around 1808. Regarding the manor , Kröstau belonged proportionally to the manors Kröstau and Kürbitz , and until 1856 as an official village to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Plauen . In 1856 the place was affiliated with the Plauen court office and in 1875 with the Plauen administration . The manor Kröstau acquired Paul Oscar Uibrig in 1900. In the course of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone from 1945 , the manor Kröstau was expropriated in 1945 and the manor building was demolished three years later. Only the farm buildings have been preserved to this day.
As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Kröstau came to the Plauen-Land district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On January 1, 1974, Kröstau was incorporated into Weischlitz. As a district of Weischlitz, Kröstau has belonged to the Saxon district of Plauen since 1990, which was added to the Vogtland district in 1996.
