history

The square village of Kleinzöbern shared the history of Großzöbern before 1328. The place was mentioned in the year 1122 in the deed of foundation of the Johanniskirche zu Plauen under the name "Zobi". This name is of Slavic origin. In 1328 Großzöbern was referred to as "Obern Zcobern" and Kleinzöbern as "nydern Zcobern". Both places were mentioned in 1425 as "great Ztoeber" and "kleynen Ztoeber". The Kleinzöbern manor was owned by Hans von Sack in 1524 . It then belonged to the city council of Oelsnitz , which used the Kleinzöbern manor as a part of the Schönbrunn manor . For financial reasons it was sold to Messrs. Groh.

With regard to the manorial rule , Kleinzöbern was later divided. Around 1542 the place belonged partly to the Teutonic Order of Plauen and the Geilsdorf manor. Around 1606, a portion was subject to the Council of Oelsnitz / Vogtl. From 1764 to 1856, Kleinzöbern was partly under the Pirk manor , the rest was an official village in the Electoral Saxon or royal Saxon office of Voigtsberg . Ecclesiastically, Kleinzöbern has always been part of Geilsdorf, although the neighboring town of Großzöbern has its own church. In 1856 Kleinzöbern became part of the Plauen court office and in 1875 the Plauen administration . Together with Berglas , Kleinzöbern was incorporated into Großzöbern on April 1, 1939.

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Kleinzöbern became part of the community of Großzöbern in 1952 to the district of Plauen-Land in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Plauen in 1996 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996 . On January 1, 1994, the municipality of Großzöbern merged with six other municipalities to form the municipality of Burgstein , which in turn was incorporated into the larger municipality of Weischlitz on January 1, 2011. Since then Großzöbern, Kleinzöbern and Berglas have formed the village of Großzöbern.
