(map)
1876 Second order station, significant in terms of surveying history and technology history. Pillar on a square ground plan, high base, cover plate, Schreiersgrüner granite, height 1.30 m. Inscription partly weathered: "Station / KANDELSTEIN / der / Königl.Sächs. / Triangulirung / 1876", written on rocks.

The station was built in September 1876 on the Kandelstein, east of the Kandelhof farm. The property owner, Chamberlain von Nauendorff auf Geilsdorf and Schwand, gave his consent to the use of the area in a letter dated August 23, 1876. The round shape of the column documented by Nagel is obviously a mistake. After the column was overturned in the late 1990s, it was put up again along with an information board on May 13, 2005. The visual connections to the surrounding stations no longer exist today.

1938-1940 Bridge on twelve arches made of granite (Lusatian and Fichtelgebirgsgranit), section of the old Reichsautobahn Chemnitz – Hof, construction of technical-historical and landscape-defining importance. Was planned from 1935 as the largest massive road bridge in the world at that time, part of the Reichsautobahn Chemnitz – Hof, should have a total length of 623.7 m and a maximum height of 60 m. 1938 Start of construction, bridge construction could not be completed due to the Second World War, construction work was stopped in 1940. The bridge was closed up to over the twelve arches, there was no road walling, structure about 60 m high, 530 m span, 38 m between the pillars, 29.5 m wide. After the German-German division, the bridge was on the edge of the GDR border area, the bridge remained as a ruin. In 1990 further construction was finally initiated, construction began again in 1991, and the bridge was completed in 1993.

The pillars have a core made of stamped concrete, exposed masonry made of granite. Arched bridge only apparently, the arches have no load-bearing function today in order to preserve the historical substance and to enable a roadway that is considerably wider than in the original construction plans. A pre-stressed concrete construction was chosen that transfers the loads directly into the pillar axes.
