Motorway valley bridge Pöhl

The list of cultural monuments in Pöhl shows the cultural monuments of the Saxon community of Pöhl that were recorded by the State Office for Monument Preservation of Saxony until January 2020 (excluding archaeological cultural monuments). The notes are to be observed.

This list is a subset of the list of cultural monuments in the Vogtland district .

  • Manor house: two-storey, L-shaped plastered building, saddle roof, dormer windows, central axis accentuated by triangular gable, roof turret with Welscher hood and lantern. Inside: staircase with granite steps, barrel vault with dome with stitch caps on the ground floor. Semicircular corner towers with flat domed roof (disfiguring alterations from the 1960s), last owner EWH von Hünefeld (1827).
  • Grave chapel: Neo-Gothic, round central building with a keel arched gable and coat of arms and inscription over the entrance risalit, dome with coffered ceiling, crowned by a cross.

  • Machine house with a gable roof, administrative building with a flat sloping roof, facades designed like a residential building: light red clinker bricks are interspersed with darker colors, loosened up, the visible gable is determined by triangular gables with round arched windows and three tall rectangular windows, rear overhangs with original ceramic insulators, balcony-like walkway over almost the entire long side Original sheet iron gates, exterior lighting also still largely original

1958 Totality of Jocketa cemetery: cemetery complex with cemetery chapel, tomb for those who died in World War II, memorial stone for the construction of the cemetery and enclosure (individual monuments 09300662); Cemetery complex from the middle of the 20th century, which was handed down in very good original condition, is of artistic importance. During the construction of the Pöhl dam, the Pöhl cemetery had to be relocated, a completely new facility, today the original. Gravel path with edging made of Theuma slate, as well as stairways and embankment walls. The architect's plan is based on the cemetery complex, which has remained largely unchanged to this day (see also Neuensalz and Thoßfeld cemeteries). 09247856

  • Cemetery chapel: one-storey plastered building with a rectangular floor plan on a flat surface raised from the rest of the surface with a retaining wall made of Theuma slate; Theumaer slate base, ground floor rough plaster, entrance on the gable side with double-leaf door with grooved glass inserts, large curved canopy in concrete, above the entrance sgraffito "Tree of Life", eaves sides each with four high segmented arched windows, inside floor made of hard-fired glazed tiles, otherwise unadorned, saddle roof with Slate covering and a small roof turret
  • in front of the chapel memorial stone for the construction of the cemetery, narrow, hewn natural stone made of reddish granite with the inscription: "1958 / ZUM GE / THINKING / THE ABOVE / FÜHRTEN / VERSTOR / BENEN / AUS DEM / GRIEDHOF / PÖHL", in front of it small bird bath with a representation of three Birds, simple craftsmanship without much artistic expression
  • Tomb for the fallen of the Second World War, simple pillow stone with raised inscription “Here rest in peace Private Bruno Brosche, Rifleman Helmut Merle, Pioneer Sergeant Major Kurt Richard Reinhard, Corporal Artur Hermann, Corporal Fritz Brauer” (Kurt Richard Reinhard blew up the Elstertal Bridge during the advance of the Allies Army)

  1. Description of the garden monument Jocketa cemetery (Nora Kindermann, December 21, 2011):
    • Access: two entrances, the main entrance from the east with two-leaf metal grille, second entrance from the north also with two-leaf metal grille
    • Path system: curved path system made of water-bound ceiling, partly with edging made of Theuma slate, paved paths and steps made of Theuma slate, concrete paving at the chapel (not historical)
    • Water elements: three round water basins made of Theuma slate, bird bath made of concrete
    • Vegetation:
      • Individual trees: loose old trees in the cemetery area consisting of horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum), birch (Betula pendula), linden (Tilia spec.), Black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia), Douglas fir (Pseudotsugamenziesii), Colorado fir (Abies concolor), spruce (Picea abies) , here the alternation of light deciduous trees and evergreen conifers dominates the garden, to the edge to the west and south denser planting of deciduous trees, v. a. Ash (Fraxinus excelsior), sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus), horse chestnut
      • Hedges and shrubs: the plantings of various spar shrubs in the grave fields (Spirea japonica and Spiraea bumalda), as well as mixed stocks of u. a.
