history

House in Trieb (Pöhl)

The forest hoof village Trieb was first mentioned in 1441 as "Trebe". Trieb was originally parish to Steinsdorf, since the 1930s the place has been parish to Jößnitz. Regarding the manorial rule, Trieb was divided between the manors Kleingera and Liebau in the 16th century . In the 19th century the place belonged entirely to the Liebau manor.

Trieb was until 1856 in the Electoral or Royal Saxon office of Plauen . In 1856 the place was affiliated to the Elsterberg court office and in 1875 to the Plauen administration . The Rentzschmühle and Barthmühle settlements , some of which are located in the Trieb corridor, were given a station on the Gera Süd – Weischlitz railway (Elstertalbahn) in 1875 and 1879, respectively .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Trieb became part of the Plauen-Land district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon "Plauen district" from 1990 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996 . Trieb was incorporated into Jocketa on January 1, 1974 . The municipality of Jocketa with its districts Barthmühle, Trieb and Neudörfel merged with the municipalities of Helmsgrün, Herlasgrün, Ruppertsgrün and Möschwitz to form the new municipality of Pöhl as part of the municipal reform in the Free State of Saxony on January 1, 1994.

Infrastructure

In the vicinity of Trieb there are two train stations on the Weischlitz – Plauen – Greiz – Gera ( Elstertalbahn ). While the train station of the Rentzschmühle estate is in the Trieb corridor, the Barthmühle train station is on the other bank of the White Elster in the Jocketa corridor.
