history

Manor Christgrün

Christgrün was first mentioned in 1366 as "Cristansgrune". In the 14th century there were three moated castles around the place . The local manor Christgrün, which was first mentioned in 1577 , exercised the manorial rule over the place until the 19th century . The manor developed from an estate that is said to have existed as early as 1414. In the 16th century, the owners of the Christgrün manor were the lords of Bünau , then the von Trützschler family . The von Milkau family followed in the 17th and 18th centuries, followed by the von Bose and von Hühnefeld families. After the death of the last owner of Hühnefeld, the manor was converted into an estate in 1827. The chapel in the castle park was also built at this time.

Until April 18, 1856, jurisdiction over the estates in Herlasgrün , Limbach , Mühlwand , Neudörfel (near Elsterberg ) and over the estates in Christgrün and Kleinchristgrün itself lay with the manor Christgrün. The royal courts in Elsterberg and Treuen took over the jurisdiction.

Until 1856, Christgrün was in the Electoral or Royal Saxon Office of Plauen . In 1856 the place was affiliated to the Elsterberg court office and in 1875 to the Plauen administration . The last owners of the Christgrün manor before the expropriation in the course of the land reform in 1945 were the Lords of Schönfeld. From then on, the manor was used as a folk estate and later as a training center for agriculture and as a dormitory. An expansion of the Volksgut planned at the end of the 1980s was no longer carried out after the fall of the Wall .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the community of Christgrün became part of Plauen-Land in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon "Plauen district" from 1990 and was added to the Vogtland district in 1996 . Christgrün was incorporated into Ruppertsgrün on January 1, 1974 , which merged on January 1, 1994 with the communities of Helmsgrün, Herlasgrün, Jocketa and Möschwitz to form the new municipality of Pöhl as part of the municipal reform in the Free State of Saxony.
