history
Ruppertsgrün was first mentioned in 1365 as "Rupersgrun". The Rentzschmühle in the valley of the White Elster, first mentioned in 1441, first appeared in connection with Ruppertsgrün in 1464. A manor is said to have existed in Ruppertsgrün as early as the 13th century, but the builder is unknown. The first named owners were the Lords of Dölau . During their rule in Ruppertsgrün to 1412 Vorwerk and in 1606 manor mentioned. Johanna Charlotte Freiin von Dölau from the von Dölau family was mentioned in 1744 as the last owner of the Ruppertsgrün manor. In that year the manor came to Johann Ernst von Bomsdorf and in 1770 to Carl Friedrich von Görschen . Around 1780 it was owned by Johann Carl Adam Lorenz. Ruppertsgrün Castle, which was rebuilt after the Thirty Years' War, fell into disrepair towards the end of the 18th century. Johann Friedrich Gottlob Schillbach was the owner of Ruppertsgrün around 1810. It came to Julius Zeidler through his widow in 1842. In the 1850s, the von Hühnefeld family foundation took over the manor. A new mansion was built under Mr. Zeidler and the foundation. Sidonie Klinger in 1901 and Walter Donner in 1920 were named as other owners.
In addition to the local manor, the manor over Ruppertsgrün was partly exercised by the manors Pöhl (temporarily), Kleingera (temporarily) and Liebau . At the beginning of the 18th century, today's church was built on the site of an older previous building. Its south portal dates from 1708, the west tower was built in 1886.
Until 1856 Ruppertsgrün was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Plauen . In 1856 the place was affiliated to the Elsterberg court office and in 1875 to the Plauen administration . Although the Reichenbach - Plauen section of the Leipzig – Hof railway line was opened on July 15, 1851, the community of Ruppertsgrün did not receive a stop until October 1, 1905. The Rentzschmühle settlement in Ruppertsgrüner Flur in the valley of the White Elster, on the other hand, was given a stop on the Gera Süd – Weischlitz (Elstertalbahn) line in 1875 , which was consecrated as a train station in 1905. The last owner of the Ruppertsgrün manor before it was expropriated as part of the land reform was Alphons Dreher. In 1948 the mansion was demolished.
On July 1, 1950, the neighboring town of Liebau was incorporated, followed by Christgrün on January 1, 1974 . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Ruppertsgrün became part of the Plauen-Land district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon "Plauen district" from 1990 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996 . The municipality of Ruppertsgrün with its districts Rentzschmühle, Liebau and Christgrün merged with the municipalities of Helmsgrün, Herlasgrün, Jocketa and Möschwitz to form the new municipality of Pöhl as part of the municipal reform in the Free State of Saxony on January 1, 1994.
