List of cultural monuments in Neuensalz

The list of cultural monuments in Neuensalz includes the cultural monuments of the Saxon community of Neuensalz that were recorded by the State Office for Monument Preservation of Saxony until July 2019 (excluding archaeological cultural monuments). The notes are to be observed.

This list is a subset of the list of cultural monuments in the Vogtland district .

When the Altensalz was flooded during the construction of the Pöhl dam, the cemetery had to be rebuilt, a new system based on a design by the architect Brinkötter, who planned the green space and the buildings, the Thossfell and Jocketa cemeteries were created according to the same design, spacious horticultural facilities with gravel paths bordered by Theumaer Slate slabs, paths with Theuma slate slabs, embankment walls and stairs also made from Theuma slate.

  • Cemetery chapel: one-storey plastered building on a rectangular floor plan with plinth cladding made of Theuma slate, three narrow high segmental arched windows on each eaves side, entrance on the gable side with a double-leaf wooden door with glass inserts, curved concrete roof over the entrance, above it a sgraffito (girl planting a tree), next to the chapel a small outbuilding in the same Construction method, near the chapel memorial stone with inscription: "1959 / TO / GEDENKEN / DER ABOUT / FÜHRTEN / VERSTOR / BENEN AUS / DEM EHEMA / LIGEN KIRCH / CEMETERY / ALTENSALZ"
  • System divided into different grave fields with groups of trees, solitary trees and hedges, tombstone 1929 for inn owner Rudolph Meyer moved from the old cemetery
  • Granite water trough: probably from a former farm

First construction in the middle of the 12th century by the Teutonic Order, redesign from 1702, 1854–1856 neo-Gothic reconstruction, expired after 1945, completion of the reconstruction according to plans from 1856 in 1987. Around 1958 New system from the middle of the 20th century of regional historical importance. Before the cemetery was flooded by the construction of the Pöhl dam, a new cemetery was created for Thossfell. The cemetery is based on a plan by the architect Rüdiger Brinkötter, who also planned the cemeteries in Jocketa and Neuensalz. Generous green space with groups of trees and solitary trees, curved gravel paths bordered with Theuma slate, as well as embankment walls and a small fountain made from Theuma slate.

  • The official list of cultural monuments is never closed. It is permanently changed through clarifications, new additions or deletions. A transfer of such changes to this list is not guaranteed at the moment.
  • The monument quality of an object does not depend on its entry in this or the official list. Objects that are not listed can also be monuments.
  • Basically, the property of a monument extends to the substance and appearance as a whole, including the interior. Deviating applies if only parts are expressly protected (e.g. the facade).
