The Wetzlarer Evangeliumschor (also: Evangeliumschor Wetzlar or Wetzlarer Evangeliums-Chor ) was a choir of the German evangelical music scene under the direction of Margret Birkenfeld in the 1960s and 1970s .
Founded on the initiative of the publisher Hermann Schulte as the choir of his record publisher in the spring of 1964, the Wetzlar Gospel Choir assembled a non-denominational singing formation from the near and far area of Wetzlar. His singers also included the soloists Doris Loh and Martin Gerhard . Due to its frequent record production, it has grown together to form a committed choir community, but the choir soon performed live at concerts across what was then Germany.
In the mid-1970s, the choir finally dissolved by merging with the then studio choir of the Evangeliums-Rundfunks into the Jubilate Choir under the direction of Wilfried Mann .
