Anka & Christa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anka & Christa was a singing duo of Christian music consisting of the twin sisters Christa Haag, nee Nothe, as the melody-leading soprano voice and Angelika Schupp, nee Nothe, as the second soprano.

history

The twin sisters Angelika, called Anka, and Christa Nothe sang regular solo parts in the Wetzlar children's choir under the direction of Margret Birkenfeld . As they grew up, the young singers switched to the adult evangelical choir of the choir director in the early 1970s . Here the duet mainly appeared on concept albums around folk guitar songs with their own music titles. The sisters also performed in groups with well-known soloists from the Christian music scene such as contralto Christel Menzel-Schrebkowski and the sopranos Doris Loh and Ria Deppert .

In 1975 the single Anka & Christa was released with a total of four music titles, between the Gospel Song and the New Spiritual Song , stylistically also here in a popular, classical and guitar-specific interpretation.

Further recordings of the duo remained in favor of Christa Haag's solo engagement by musicians friends such as Johannes Haas and his singing group Frohe Message , Wilfried Mann and his early Jubilate choir , Jochen Rieger and the Schulte & Gerth studio choir , and last but not least, she worked until the mid-1980s in with Margret Birkenfeld and various formations with her Wetzlar choirs.
