Wilfried Reuter (Pastor)
Wilfried Reuter (born January 16, 1940 in Kassel ; † July 2, 2011 in Reichelsheim (Odenwald) , more rarely: Wilfried P. Reuter ) was a German pastor , evangelist and singer , made famous by the German tent mission as the "singing pastor".
Career
Since his ordination on August 1, 1967, Reuter had been a singer, coordinator and speaker at the German Tent Mission and was known as the “singing pastor”. On the parish day under the word in 1975, he led the stadium choir, comprising two thousand voices, in the Stuttgart Neckar Stadium, today's Mercedes-Benz Arena . From 1978 to 1984 he was the director of the Bergstrasse Bible School . He then worked from 1984 to 1993 in the Office for Missionary Services of the Hesse-Nassau Church. From 1992 to 2007 he was chairman of the German Evangelist Conference . At the first ProChrist event in Essen with the American evangelist Dr. Billy Graham acted as its translator. The event was broadcast to hundreds of locations in Europe. For many years he was a member of the leadership group of the Lausanne Movement Germany. From January 1, 1994 to March 14, 2003, he was in charge of the spiritual armament center in Krelingen , Walsrode . In retirement, he headed the “Stephanus-Dienst”, a pastoral care initiative for full-time employees.
Since May 12, 2007 Reuter has been chairman of the Association of Evangelical Christians (GEC) in Tenerife . Reuter was a member of the main board of the German Evangelical Alliance and until 2008 chairman of the supervisory body of World Vision Germany . As a representative of World Vision International, he was also a member of the board of World Vision Austria .
