The Derschlag youth singing group was a Christian choir under the direction of Johannes Haas , who became known in Germany in the 1960s, especially in evangelical circles.
history
As a music producer for the Christian music label Happy Message in the song of the book and record publisher Hermann Schulte in Wetzlar as well as choirmaster of the national Youth for Christ Choir , Johannes Haas formed a smaller ensemble with the Derschlag youth singing group , which thanks to its intensive recording work as well as his special repertoire, consisting almost exclusively of American gospel songs, soon became known. The songs, some of which were translated into German by the choirmaster himself, primarily addressed an evangelical audience and, together with other artists from his music label, formed the Christian radio station Evangeliums-Rundfunk's short music library in the early years . The resulting permanent radio presence in the entire German-speaking world as far as South America made the choir internationally known. Doris Loh and Ulrich Brück later became known as soloists from the fellow singers of the Derschlag youth singing group .
Since 2005, the original recordings of the Derschlag youth singing group from the 1960s have been experiencing a comeback that has been successful for years in the program Unforgotten - songs that remain for the ERF . In addition to its radio presence, the Gerth Medien publishing house has now published eleven episodes under the same title with nostalgic recordings by, among others, the Derschlag youth singing group.
