Cae Gauntt
Cae Gauntt (* 21st April 1956 in Fort Worth , Texas as Catherine Ellen Cooley ) is a Christian pop singer .
Artistic career
After her singing and music teachers - study at the Baylor University with a major in vocal (classical coloratura soprano ), she worked as a music and drama teacher at an elementary school in Texas, sang in many musicals of the 70s, gave solo concerts, went as a soloist the Continentals on tour through Europe and participated in radio and vinyl recordings.
In 1978 she moved to Vienna with her husband, opera singer Eddie Gauntt , where she played Maria Magdalena in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Theater an der Wien for two years . She also took part in TV programs on ORF , sang in the choir of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna and gave big band concerts at galas and dance balls. Director Peter Weck's offer to play the main role of Grizabella in the musical Cats, which started in Vienna in 1983 , was turned down and moved to Krefeld with her husband Eddie , and then to Karlsruhe in 1985 .
Discovered by Klaus Heizmann , she gave concerts with her husband and the studio choir of the St. Goar Music Education Center from 1984 to 1987 , as well as duo concerts as Cae & Eddie Gauntt . She has been giving solo concerts since the release of her debut album . In addition to performing with a band, she kept developing new live concepts such as the Cae 3F acoustic set , Classic meets Pop with choir and orchestra, solo with Florian Sitzmann on piano , the Christmas program with husband Eddie and Sitzmann, and a program with Eddie and Samuel Jersak , Cae & Combo , concerts with various choirs and The DIVAs with Anja Lehmann , Erin Kincaid and Elaine Hanley . She also gives singing seminars, is a vocal coach and makes chains and cutlery .
Since 1985 she has sung on many records by artists such as Edo Zanki , Kosho , Dieter Falk , Fool's Garden , Jan Vering , Clemens Bittlinger , Pe Werner , Freddy Sahin-Scholl , Nena , Helmut Jost , Lothar Kosse , Hans-Werner Scharnowski , Jochen Rieger , Wolfgang Abendschön, David Hanselmann , Hella Heizmann , Johannes Nitsch , Judy Bailey and André Heller . As a songwriter, she has worked for artists such as Dieter Falk, Freddy Sahin-Scholl, Sarah Brightman , Edo Zanki, nu company, Andru Donalds , Wolfgang Abendschön and Tino Oac . Cae conducted the choir on the recordings for Chokmah by Nena. She supported artists like Wolle Kriwanek , Doppelpunkt and Fool's Garden by editing her works, while she accompanied performances by Rainer Haak , Heiko Bräuning and video artist Haegar with songs.
Since 1999 she has been a member of the vocal group 4 Your Soul , with which she has recorded two albums so far: 2001 the debut 4 Your Soul and 2005 Live at Billy Blues .
Cae Gauntt has been married to opera singer Eddie Gauntt since 1978 ; they have two sons (born in 1983 and 1991). The younger son, Lukas Gauntt, makes music with her and his father, as well as as a solo artist under the name Will Luke and a guest with artists such as Maria Kotrotsou.
