Heiko Bräuning
Heiko Bräuning (born November 7, 1969 in Göppingen ) is a German Protestant pastor, freelance radio journalist , musician , presenter and author .
Live and act
Bräuning completed a five-year theology course in Tübingen . He completed his vicariate in Bad Liebenzell , after which he worked as a parish administrator in Wilhelmsdorf . Since 2003 he has been working for the Diakoniewerk Die Zieglerschen and most recently held a pastoral position for school pastoral care with half a position in Aulendorf. On July 31, 2017, he resigned from the parish service of the Württemberg regional church .
He received his journalistic training at the Evangelisches Medienhaus , SWR and Bayerischer Rundfunk . From 2005 to 2007 he was trained as a Master of Arts in Diaconic Management at the Diaconal Competence Center of the Bethel Church University in Bielefeld.
Bräuning has been active in radio and television since 1992. He is on the road to concerts and song sermons throughout Germany with the “Pastor Pop Piano” project.
With his music sermons project, he is nationwide as a guest at various congregations at various events. He is supported by his team of musicians, Michael Gundlach on the piano and Matthias Mäder as another singer and guitarist.
In 1999 he initiated the nationwide first internet church service "Skyline". In 2004 he started the youth welfare festival, which the Zieglerschen Anstalten organize once a year in Wilhelmsdorf. As part of this festival, at which young people are to be won over to the concerns of diakonia, the Youth Diaconia Prize endowed with 2000 euros is also awarded. In 2009 he started the weekly TV service "Hour of the Highest", which is broadcast on Bibel TV , has over 400,000 viewers per week, is the only TV service that is interpreted into German sign language and in 2018 received the "Aloys Henhöfer Prize" . He also gives biblical impulses in the weekly program “Fokus Jerusalem” broadcast on Bibel TV.
Bräuning is married and has four children.
Honorary positions
From 2007 to 2019 he was a member of the Württemberg regional synod .
As an evangelist and speaker, he works for “Church on the Go” and the German Tent Mission and as a freelance journalist and presenter for various radio and television stations. He is involved in the advisory board of invitare , a foundation for mother and child, and works in the Ev. Brüdergemeinde Wilhelmsdorf and as leisure and travel guides for various church travel providers. In addition, for years he acted as the moderator for the German broadcast of the US television service Hour of Power .
Prizes and awards
- As a radio journalist, he has received the Baden-Württemberg Media Prize three times . (1998, 2000, 2001)
- As a musician, he was awarded the Songpoeten Prize by the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation and the Hanns Seidel Foundation in 2000.
