Egil Fossum

Egil Fossum (* 1951 in Norway ) is a Norwegian gospel musician , composer , choir director of Chorlight until 2013 and founder of the GoGospel festival series .

Life

Fossum moved to Germany in the mid-1980s. After working as a gospel music producer in his home country of Norway, he made a significant contribution to the German scene. In 1995 he organized the first GoGospel gospel event, which grew into a series of festivals with up to 2000 participants.

Based in Rudersberg , he founded the gospel choir Chorlight there in 1986 , which became known nationwide through numerous concerts and music productions as well as charity campaigns in cooperation with prominent athletes such as Giovane Élber and Fredi Bobic . From 2003 to 2009 Fossum became known throughout Europe as the leader of the ProChrist choir of the broadcast evangelism series of the same name . In this context, the world premiere of Fossum's Kyrie for Winnenden took place in 2009 , a work in memory of the victims of the rampage in the town near Rudersberg and the residence of some of the singers of his choirs, Winnenden . He also wrote the ProChrist motto song Staunen in 2009 .

Egil Fossum is married to musician Hanne Fossum , with whom he produced Christian children's musicals, among other things. At the end of 2012 Fossum moved back to Norway, where he now conducts Nordstrand Musikkselskaps Kor .
