A poster ( English poster , "placard") is a decorative print that is usually frameless and placard-like or hung on the wall using a deco block . In contrast to posters, however, posters are not used to convey information to the public. As an art form, posters emerged from poster art in the wake of Pop Art . Today posters can be found in any form and with any content (also as art prints or photo art ). Popular uses are to decorate interiors or to express closeness to a topic (for example a musician or an athlete), for example through a fan poster .

Scientific poster

In science, a compact presentation of scientific results is referred to as a poster, as it is presented, for example, at conferences or congresses . In the so-called poster session , the scientists stand next to their poster to explain their work and to discuss their work with others. The poster has the lowest status compared to other forms of presentation at scientific conferences.
