Eckardroth is a district of Bad Soden-Salmünster in the Main-Kinzig district in East Hesse .
Geographical location
Eckardroth lies between the southern foothills of the Vogelsberg in Huttengrund , a right northern side valley of the Kinzig valley , on the right western bank of the Salz and has grown together to the south with the neighboring village of Wahlert . Beyond the Salz, Romsthal occupies the eastern side of the valley. Other neighboring towns are Kerbersdorf in the north and Katholisch-Willenroth in the west.

The oldest surviving documentary mention as Ekharterode dates back to 1356.
Territorial reform
In the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Eckardroth in the district of Schlüchtern was incorporated into the city of Bad Soden on April 1, 1972 . 1 July 1974 at Bad Soden Salmünster force with the city state law to the new town of Bad Orb was merged and moved simultaneously in the newly formed Main-Kinzig-Kreis. For Eckardroth, a local district with a local advisory board and a local councilor was set up.
