Romsthal is a district of Bad Soden-Salmünster in the Main-Kinzig district in East Hesse .

Geographical location

Romsthal lies between the southern foothills of the Vogelsberg in Huttengrund , a right northern side valley of the Kinzig valley , on the left bank of the Salz . This separates the place from Eckardroth and Wahlert on the other bank, other neighboring places are Kerbersdorf in the north, Marborn in the east and Bad Soden in the south.

history

The oldest surviving documentary mention as Ramsthal dates back to 1365.

In the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Romsthal was incorporated into the former town of Salmünster in the district of Schlüchtern in 1970 . 1 July 1974 at Bad Soden Salmünster force with the city state law to the new town of Bad Orb was merged and moved simultaneously in the newly formed Main-Kinzig-Kreis. For Romsthal a local district with a local advisory board and a local mayor was set up.

In Romsthal the state roads 3178 (direction Bad Soden or Kerbersdorf) and 3196 (direction Eckardroth or Marborn) cross. The nearby A66 has given the place a central location between the entrances and exits in Steinau ad Str. (Towards Fulda / Frankfurt a. M.) and Bad Soden-Salmünster (towards Frankfurt a. M./Fulda).

education

  • Romsthal has a primary school which is attended by the students of the Huttengrund and teaches grades one to four with one class each.

Public facilities

  • The Huttengrundhalle, completed on March 24, 1995, has a multi-purpose hall in addition to the versatile sports and event hall, a bowling alley and a restaurant. In 2011 the new day care center, which was built behind the hall, was integrated into it.
  • The Spatzennest daycare center, which was newly built in 2011 and was connected to the Huttenngrundhalle, offers 20 U3 and 100 Ü3 places. The original kindergarten was on Kindergartenstraße (one-way street), which ends in the Steines. The entire kindergarten was moved in 2011. The old building still exists, but was functionally converted into residential accommodation during the refugee crisis in 2016, refurbished and modernized. The building is still empty to this day. The new daycare center is directly connected to the multi-purpose hall by an entrance.
