Numbering of the district roads in the Darmstadt administrative district
The district roads in the Darmstadt administrative district were originally numbered according to a specific numbering plan. The lowest district street numbers were selected for the Bergstrasse district and the highest for the Main-Kinzig district.
The numbering was usually done in the following order:
Bergstrasse district, Odenwaldkreis, Darmstadt-Dieburg district, Groß-Gerau district, Darmstadt district, Offenbach district, Offenbach am Main district, Wetterau district, Rheingau-Taunus district, Hochtaunus district, Wiesbaden district, Main-Taunus district, urban district Frankfurt am Main and finally Main-Kinzig-Kreis.
The numbering of the district roads in the Lahn-Dill district and in the Limburg-Weilburg district, which have belonged to the Gießen administrative district since January 1, 1981, still largely follow this numbering plan.
