history
Mosborn was founded in 1766 on a cleared forest area with 8 farms. It belonged to the Lohrhaupten office of the County of Hanau-Munzenberg , which had actually belonged to the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel since 1736 . In 1821 there was a fundamental administrative reform in the former Landgraviate, now known as the “ Electorate of Hesse ”. The Lohrhaupten office - and thus also Mosborn - belonged to the newly formed Gelnhausen district .
In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , Mosborn formed together with the communities Kempfenbrunn and Flörsbach on April 1, 1972 the new community Flörsbachtal. In 1974 the district of Gelnhausen merged into the newly formed Main-Kinzig district . Local districts were not formed.
