Flörsbachtal is a municipality in the south-east of the Hessian Main-Kinzig district , which was created under this newly created name on April 1, 1972 as part of the Hessian regional reform through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Flörsbach, Kempfenbrunn and Mosborn .

The community is located in the Spessart directly on the Hessian border with Bavaria .

The Wiesbüttmoor , the Wiesbüttsee , the Wellersberg and the Bergfeld are located in the municipality . The Flörsbacher Höhe is located northeast of the federal highway B 276 from Flörsbachtal towards Biebergemünd , it allows a view of the Main - Spessart . The topographically highest point of the municipality is at 567  m above sea level. NN on the summit of the Hermannskoppe .

Neighboring communities

In the north, Flörsbachtal borders on the communities of Biebergemünd and Jossgrund , in the east on the community-free area of Forst Aura and the community of Fellen (both rural districts of Main-Spessart ), in the south on the community-free areas of Ruppertshüttener Forst and Frammersbacher Forest, and in the west on the community-free area Schöllkrippener Forst ( district of Aschaffenburg ).

Territorial reform

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Flörsbachtal was formed on April 1, 1972 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Flörsbach , Kempfenbrunn and Mosborn . Two years after the establishment, on July 1, 1974, the municipality of Lohrhaupten was added by virtue of state law . Even after that, however, Flörsbachtal remained the smallest municipality in the Main-Kinzig district.
