Hasselroth is a municipality in the Main-Kinzig district of Hesse .

geography

location

The municipality lies between the Kinzigaue in the north and the northwestern foothills of the Spessart on the eastern edge of the Rhein-Main area .

Neighboring communities

Hasselroth borders in the north on the community of Gründau and the city of Gelnhausen , in the east on the community Linsengericht , in the south on the community Freigericht , in the southwest on the community Rodenbach and in the west on the city Langenselbold .

Community structure

The community consists of the places Gondsroth , Neuenhaßlau (seat of the community administration) and Niedermittlau . The three districts are geographically clearly separated from each other.

history

As part of the regional reform in Hesse , the communities of Neuenhaßlau and Gondsroth merged to form the community of Hasselroth on October 1, 1971. The parish name is a word created from the names of the two earlier parishes. On July 1, 1974, the then still independent community of Niedermittlau was incorporated into Hasselroth by state law .

The coat of arms was approved on June 28, 1974 by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior . The design of the coat of arms was in the hands of the Bad Nauheim heraldist Heinz Ritt .

The coat of arms was taken over from the former community of Neuenhaßlau and shows three hazelnuts as a symbol for its place name "Hasela" (hazel (nut)), the counter-tinned bar from the coat of arms of the Lords of Rückingen and the colors red and gold of the County of Hanau .

Together with the coat of arms, a flag was approved by the Ministry of the Interior, which was also adopted by the former community of Neuenhaßlau and which is described as follows:

"Split by yellow and red three times (2: 3: 3: 2), the municipal coat of arms in the upper third."

In Niedermittlau there is a football club (FC Alemannia 1905 Niedermittlau) and a handball club that plays in the women's national league (FSG Altenhaßlau / Niedermittlau). In Neuenhaßlau there is a football club (FV Viktoria 06 Neuenhaßlau), whose second team was champions in the Kia district league D Gelnhausen in the 2007/2008 season. There is also a gymnastics club (TG Neuenhaßlau), which is active with several volleyball teams.
