Unterreichenbach is a district of the municipality of Birstein in the Hessian Main-Kinzig district .

The place is in the lower Vogelsberg north-east of Birstein am Reichenbach .

history

Unterreichenbach was first mentioned in a document in 810. After the old church was demolished, the Protestant Reformed church that still exists today was consecrated in the form of a transverse church in 1750 , the "Vogelsberg Cathedral". In 1939 the place belonged to the district of Gelnhausen and had 386 inhabitants.

On April 1, 1972, Unterreichenbach was incorporated into the community of Birstein.

Cultural monuments

  • "Vogelsberger Dom", the local Protestant church, was built from 1748 to 1754 as a transverse church.
