history

The village was first mentioned in the middle of the 16th century. On April 1, 1972, the place was spun off from the municipality of Sarrod and added to the municipality of Ulmbach as a district. 1 July 1974 at Ulmbach was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse powerful state law in the city Steinau, "Steinau" today incorporated .
