Rabenstein is located in the north of the Main-Kinzig district about 15 km northwest of the main town in the Vogelsberg . State road 3195 runs through the village .

history
The small village was first mentioned in a document in the 16th century. On April 1, 1972, the place was spun off from the municipality of Sarrod and added to the municipality of Ulmbach as a district. 1 July 1974 at Ulmbach was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse powerful land law in the city Steinau, "Steinau" today incorporated . For Rabenstein, a local district with a local advisory board and a local mayor was set up.
