The Christusträger Brotherhood is a German, order- like Protestant brotherhood in Lower Franconia (Bavaria).

history

The brotherhood, established in 1961 , has been based in Triefenstein Monastery in Mainfranken since 1986 . Pastor Christian Hauter is the prior of the 24 Brothers of Christ. Further locations have been Gut Ralligen on Lake Thun (Switzerland) since 1976 and the Meißen city ​​community (Saxony) since 1998 . The Brotherhood was the first non-governmental organization to open a leprosy hospital in Kabul ( Afghanistan ) in 1971 . Today there are two clinics there, a workshop for metal workers and a training workshop.

In Wilsdruff (Saxony) the brotherhood initiated the “Life and Work Foundation”, which u. a. the manor Limbach owns and is restoring.

The brothers live according to the evangelical counsels (celibacy, poverty and obedience). Married people now also live in Triefenstein Monastery, including the theologian and songwriter Christoph Zehendner since 2011 .
