The SCM Publishing is a 2007 by the Foundation Christian media based media company and part of the SCM publishing group. The publishing house resulted from a publishing group of traditional houses of the Christian publication market, initially organized in the Christian Media Foundation . In 2007 SCM-Verlag was founded, in which the individual publishers Hänssler , R.Brockhaus , ERF-Verlag and Oncken-Verlag Wuppertal merged. The latter was renamed SCM Collection and functioned as the official gift label of the SCM Verlag until 2015. In 2015 the SCM Collection label was dissolved and the gift items were integrated into the publisher's general program. All other publisher names have been retained as brand names of the SCM Verlag due to their high recognition value . This was followed by a specialization of the offer of the individual publishing brands, in which a product exchange also took place. For example, the New Life Bible , although previously published by Hänssler-Verlag, will in future be published on the SCM R.Brockhaus label , which was already part of the Elberfeld program. The classic label hänssler CLASSIC also publishes internationally renowned and excellent music productions such as the complete recording of the compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach from the International Bach Academy Stuttgart under the direction of Helmuth Rilling . The record label hänssler CLASSIC was taken over on September 1, 2015 by Profil Medien GmbH in Neuhausen / Filder, owned by the SCM group of companies. The central company headquarters is the long-standing company headquarters in Holzgerlingen.
In September 2010, SCM Verlag took over Johannis-Verlag as Edition Johannis in the SCM Collection program, in spring 2011 the SKV-Edition, which also belongs to St. Johannis-Druckerei, and in July 2016 the publishers Gerth Medien and adeo from Bertelsmann - Random House Publishing Group.

In the field of Christian pop music , SCM-Verlag publishes albums by Albert Frey , Andreas Volz and Bethel Music and music books such as Celebrate Jesus! . As of 2016, “Das Liederschatzprojekt” was dedicated to traditional chorals. 36 old hymns were re-recorded on three CDs.
In the book sector, SCM-Verlag publishes many well-known Christian authors such as Peter Strauch , Thomas Härry , Gordon MacDonald , Johannes Hartl , Stormie Omartian and many others.
