HM Schooner Pictou was a former North American schooner named "Syren" who was captured by the British Royal Navy on April 20, 1813 and put into their own service.
history
During the British-American War , the Pictou was seized by the American frigate USS Constitution on February 14, 1814 under the command of Commander Edward Stephens . The Pictou accompanied at this time the armed freighter Lovely Ann from Bermuda to Suriname . On the morning of February 14th that stopped Constitution the Pictou with a targeted shot through the sails and seized on the saver . The Constitution had already taken Lovely Ann as a pinch a few hours earlier . Captain Charles Stewart, who commanded the US frigate, decided to keep only the cargo ship and had the Pictou evacuated and sunk.

According to the Royal Navy lists , the Pictou was recaptured again in 1814, although it is admitted that it could have been confused with the American zebra . The supposedly re-conquered Pictou provided British service until 1818 and was then sold.
