Hot is a telecommunications and cable television provider in Israel , founded on August 18, 2003. Hot is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Luxembourg internet provider Altice .

background

The company was created through the merger of the three national cable providers of Israel - Matav , Tevel and Golden Channels , which arose as a direct reaction to the growing competition from the local satellite television provider yes .

Hot offers around 200 local and foreign language channels in its digital television offering. HOT also offers some 'exclusive' channels (not available from competition Yes). In addition to digital television, HOT continues to offer analog television.

Shortly after it was founded, HOT began offering landline and internet services. HOT is not an internet service provider , but only has the permission to offer the last mile .

Controversial advertising

In February 2012, a commercial for the provider caused a sensation worldwide. In the spot for a tablet computer with programs from HOT, a group of Mossad agents and women disguised a nuclear facility in Iran . The Iran protested against this commercial.
