technology

The central securities settlement platform essentially consists of the integrated online system for securities and derivative transactions GEOS (Global Entity Online System) from the manufacturer Software Daten Service GmbH (SDS), the MBS Tax compensation control module of the MBS Open system (MBS = Modular Bank Standard) from Manufacturer Sopra Banking Software and a middleware developed in-house by HSBC Transaction Services, which communicates with them in the system network and, among other things, also provides the interfaces to external market participants such as stock exchanges or custodians.

The entire platform is consistently multi-tenant. This means that the securities business of several banks can be processed in parallel on a single technical instance, taking into account all the requirements imposed by auditing or supervisory law.
