Transaction bank

A transaction bank performs investment services. In this case, the transaction bank credit institutions securities settlement systems are available, which allow these securities settlement, corporate actions, interest and dividend income and maturities cheaply and quickly handle ; the business includes z. T. and the securities custody business of custodian banks . There are differences between the transaction banks in the scope of the services offered and in their orientation as retail processors for private customer business or as wholesale processors for large customer business. Some transaction banks offer their customers individual solutions in the back office area , in which the back office service center can take over the entire area and the credit institution can limit itself to advice.

Transaction banks in Germany

A concentration process is taking place in the transaction banking segment in Germany that has not yet been completed. Remaining actors include:

  • Dwpbank ( RSGV , WLSGV , DZ Bank , WGZ Bank , Helaba , BayernLB , HSH Nordbank )
    • Contains the former TxB Transaktionsbank (acquired on March 8, 2007; merged into dwpbank on January 1, 2008)
      • Contains former LB Transaktionsbank (founded on July 1, 2002, merged to TxB on October 1, 2004)
      • Contains former Plus Bank (founded on July 1, 2002, merged to TxB on October 1, 2004)
    • Contains the former bws bank (bank for securities services and systems, Frankfurt; merged on August 4, 2003 to become dwpbank)
    • Contains the former WPS Bank (WPS WertpapierService Bank, Düsseldorf; merged on August 4, 2003 to become dwpbank)
  • Xchanging Transaction Bank (formerly european transaction bank (etb)), originally a Deutsche Bank subsidiary; In 2013, Deutsche Bank again took over the 51% stake that was sold to the British service provider Xchanging in 2004, and the name was changed to DB Investment Services GmbH

Transaction banks in Switzerland

A planned Swiss joint venture, the securities transaction bank, failed in 2000 due to the different opinions of the big banks. After that, there was cooperation between individual banks to reduce costs. Since the end of 2006, two Swiss institutes have presented themselves as transaction banks:
