The HSC 2000 Magdeburg eV was a women's handball club from Magdeburg , whose 1st team played in the 2nd national division of women from 2004 to 2011.

history

The club was founded on January 20, 2000 through the merger of the handball department of SV Fortuna Magdeburg and the female division of SC Magdeburg . With effect from July 1, 2000, all members of the two departments were transferred to the new club with the support of the handball association of Saxony-Anhalt and the new teams were put together taking into account the goals of the club.

The HSC 2000 Magdeburg was dissolved again in 2014, the youth department was taken over by the HSV Magdeburg , which was only founded in May 2013 by Michael Jahns as a pure men's handball club . HSC 2000 celebrated its greatest success with 4th place in the 2nd Bundesliga North in the 2008/09 season.

The sports halls Bruno Taut in Magdeburg and the Mittellandhalle in Barleben are the game and training facilities of HSC 2000 Magdeburg eV .

The HSC in the promotion play-offs

In the 2008/09 season, the HSC made it for the first time to qualify for the promotion play-offs. However, they were eliminated in the semifinals against the later promoted VfL Sindelfingen with 26:27 and 21:31.
