The HTBLA Eisenstadt is a higher federal technical college in the federal school center at Bad-Kissingen-Platz 3 in the municipality of Eisenstadt in Burgenland .

history

The school started in 1972 with a class of 39 students with a technical college for mechanical engineering. Classes took place at four separate locations in the former BEWAG building, in the former courthouse, in the former WIFI building and at the state vocational school. In 1981, the newly built federal school center was moved into together with the Federal Commercial Academy and Federal Commercial School Eisenstadt .

In 1982, the first classes in the unique fields of flight engineering and materials technology began. In 1988 the department for mechatronics followed with a focus on automation. Here, the construction of a planned extension has already been waited for, rooms in the former WIFI building have been rented again and the need for space has been regulated with so-called hiking classes.

In the 2005/2006 school year, more than 900 pupils were taught in 36 classes with around 120 teachers and the 5-day week was introduced. In the 2009/2010 school year more than 1000 pupils were taught, 37 of them female, with around 130 teachers, with 37 classes, 7 of them provisionally in the former WIFI building and 5 as so-called hiking classes.

On July 14, 2015, the construction work for the general refurbishment and expansion of the HAK-HTL federal school center began. During the construction phase until 2017, 220 containers will be used as rooms for teaching.
